Discover the Natural Weight Loss Secrets of the Animal
Kingdom
If you are interested in methods of natural weight
loss, you need
look no further than mother nature. How many overweight animals have
you ever seen in the wild? I'm willing to bet the answer is none. Why
is this? Well, one reason is obviously all of the natural exercise they
get. However, as Jack Lalanne once said, when it comes to health,
exercise is the King, but diet is the Queen. What animals eat, and
don't eat, is just as important as all of the exercise they get.
What do Animals Eat?
And
what do animals eat? They eat the all natural food they find in the
wild. Raw, uncooked meat, fruits and vegetables. The problem with
modern man and woman is that we eat too much processed food.
Consider the
example of the Potato
A potato in its natural state is an excellent
source of vitamin C, B6,
copper, potassium, manganese, and dietary fiber. In addition, a raw
potato is approximately 75% water, which makes it low in calories as
well. Now, take that same potato and turn it into a potato chip. Not
only do you lose 97% of the healthy vitamins and minerals of the raw
potato, it is now high in calories and is only 2% water. Now, the
potato to potato chip example may be extreme, but it teaches an
important lesson. The more a food is processed, the less nutritional
value it has and the more fattening it is.
What
does this mean for YOU?
Should you start eating a diet of raw, uncooked meat, for example?
Although there are some people who would recommend this to achieve
natural weight loss, I don't think
you have to. You can even eat potato chips, once in awhile. However,
you should strive to eat most of your food in as close to its natural
state if possible. When you do this, your body will get the nutrition
it needs, without all of the garbage it doesn't.
Here's how Jack LaLanne
put it:
Avoid
foods that are processed, devitalized, dimineralized, and unnatural.
Avoid foods that come in a bag, box, or wrapper. Avoid food that is
laced with sugar and preservatives.
Jack calls this following nature's laws. They make
sense to me. What do you think?
