Animals know the secrets of anti aging. Do you?

I recently read an interesting article on anti aging in the New York Times. Entitled Fit, Not Frail: Exercise as a Tonic for Aging , this article makes several interesting points on the effects exercise (or lack thereof) can have on the aging process. Most notably, the article pointed out that with every decade of increasing age, most people become less active. However, with every increasing decade, exercise becomes more important in terms of keeping your independence, quality of life, and your general health.

Anti Aging and the Fountain of Youth

Animals keep Moving ...

This is why older animals in the wild are so much healthier than their human counterparts. A lion or tiger doesn't stop running or climbing when they reach a certain age. They keep going. In the human world, I'm convinced that many of the effects we associate with old age are simply a result of increasing inactivity. Again, look at Jack LaLanne. Throughout his life, he consistently looked 20 years younger than he really was, and he possessed the physical abilities of someone half his age. There is something to be learned from this, don't you think?

Exercise DELAYS Aging

The Times article points out that exercise that combines cardio, strength training, balance and flexibility can delay and might even prevent the loss of physical abilities into a person's 90's and beyond. However, most older people are unfamiliar with exercise activities and feared they would cause injury and pain. The truth is quite the opposite, however. It is the lack of activity that causes these conditions.

Natural Movements are the Key ...

If you are interested in improving your health and vitality, no matter what your age, the exercises presented here on this website are a great place to start. Natural movements using your own body weight will give you the benefits (cardio, strength, balance and flexibility) in one go. The key is to consult with your doctor first, and then to start slowly. For example, if you can only perform one wall pushup ,

Another Anti Aging Measure You Can Take...

We live in a very toxic world these days. Even the wild animals are showing the effects of environmental toxins. In our homes and workplaces, we humans are MUCH more exposed to toxins than the animals. In addition to natural exercise and diet, a very effective way to delay aging is... Learn about toxins and how to get them OUT of your body!
then start with that. The key is to do what you can do, and then try and do a little more tomorrow. If you increase the number of wall pushups you do by one every day, you'll be up to 30 by the end of the month. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to reclaiming your youth and vitality.
